David de Gea explains why MAN UTD FA Cup semi-final win SO important
David de Gea immediately turned his attentions to the Champions
League places in the Premier League after his heroics helped Manchester
United into the FA Cup Final on May 21. The Spanish goalkeeper
saved a 57th-minute penalty to deny Romelu Lukaku as Everton powered
back in an astonishing second half at Wembley.
A Chris Smalling
own goal in the 75th minute got Roberto Martinez’s side back into it but
De Gea stood firm under pressure to allow the Reds to survive and set
up Anthony Martial for the injury-time winner. David de Gea saves Lukaku's second half penalty
“The penalty save was a key moment because they were doing
really well. But I thought we played well and I am really happy,” said
De Gea. “Anthony Martial is unbelievable and we won the game in the last minute. It was unbelievable. "It
is really important for us, the fans and the club and we now have four
games to go in the league and we want to finish in the top four. That is
what we want.”
