A man from Thailand is lucky to be alive
after a python lurking in his squat toilet bit his penis. The snake
attacked the man at his home in Chachoengsao Province, east of Bangkok.
Hospital officials say the man lost a lot
of blood but is recovering at Chularat Hospital. The snake also survived
after emergency workers dismantled the toilet to remove it.
Rescue officer Danupol Tapo told CNN: "This
is all bizarre. I had witnessed snakes [come] out of toilets many
times, and when they bit [it] mostly would be at legs or butts. Not the
penis, this is the first time."
The victim wrestled the snake for 30 minutes. He told reporters from the hospital, "All of a sudden, while I was holding it, it began to lose some strength. So I used my hand to pry open its mouth. Then the snake released its grip by itself."
The python was reportedly released back into the wild.
