The "Keeping Up with the Kardashians" revealed in a new interview for Harper's Bazaar that her she broke out of her "dark and toxic" marriage to NBA star Lamar Odom by going to the gym.
Kardashian
remarked to the publication, "My home [with Odom] was dark and toxic,"
she says. "At the time, my family didn't know what I was going through.
It was the biggest secret I've kept. I just needed a place to go." With
nowhere to turn, Kardashian found solace in the gym. "They had a TV and
I could watch The Real Housewives on an elliptical," Kardashian stated.
"No one talked to me. I loved that solitude."
The
reality star realized that the gym was not only good for her body but
good for her soul during at time when she needed healing.
"I
never thought about the number," she said to Harper's Bazaar. "When I
started seeing that I could lose weight—because I just thought my body
would never change—I started taking it more seriously and eating
better."
