America’s first lady, Michelle Obama, her mother, Marian Robinson and her daughters Sasha and Malia are in Africa to promote girls’ education with her signature “Let Girls Learn” campaign.
The aim of Michelle’s trip is to tackle
the exclusion of girls in education worldwide. “We will emerge together
as a group of women to tackle this exclusion,” Michelle said during a
talk on the Let Girls Learn Initiative.
On Monday, they visited a leadership camp for girls in Liberia, urging the teens to keep fighting to stay in school.
“I’m just so thrilled to be here with you. I’m here to shine a big bright light on you,” Michelle told the girls.
The First Lady also visited the Moroccan city of Marrakech, where she met with King Mohammed VI‘s wife Princess Lalla Selma.
