Photos: Police seal off PDP convention ground in Port Harcourt

The Nigerian police have sealed the convention ground of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Sharks Stadium in Port Harcourt, Rivers state, According to the police, it sealed off the convention ground after two courts of same jurisdiction gave two conflicting orders on the National Convention of the PDP.

  While Justice Okon Abang of a Federal High Court in Abuja on Tuesday had insisted that the PDP must halt its National Convention. Justice Ibrahim Watila of the Port Harcourt Division of the Federal High Court, directed the INEC, IGP and others to monitor the convention, thereby ruling that the convention should go on. Meanwhile, Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) says it is confused whether to monitor today’s National Convention of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) holding in Port Harcourt following two conflicting court rulings.
